The Money Shot: Evidently That Half-Assed Pop CD Was All Part Of Jenny Lewis' Plan...

"The truth is, I turned myself into a fake pop star for ‘Under the Blacklight,’...People like to think Warner Brothers molded us into this pop band, but that’s what we really wanted to do, and at the time I thought that is what I wanted for that record.
