Still here...

Hey everyone... sorry about the lack of blogging this week. All I can say is there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes and some big announcements on the horizon... just not quite yet.

For those of you who are having problems reaching the Live365 website to listen to the Musical Justice radio station, evidently there is a problem with Live365's DNS entry. Simply put, DNS is what translates the internet address you type (such as www.live365.com) into an internet address that a computer connected to the internet can read (such as 216.235.80.35). These entries are stored in large databases and your internet service provider (ISP) gets updates, usually on some kind of regular schedule ranging from hours to days.

At this point, if you are still having a problem connecting, it's likely that your ISP doesn't update these tables as frequently as some do. I'm able to connect to the website from from my work connection, but my home Road Runner account was still having a problem as of noon today.

Since you can't get to the Live365 website if you're experiencing this problem, you won't be able to see the workaround they've posted so I'm going to cut and paste it below if you are so inclined to give it a try.

We want to apologize to those who are experiencing the unexpected issues due to a change on our Domain Name Service server. We expect a number of affected ISPs to pick up the new information by 6 PM tonight.

In the mean time, you can access Live365 by manually setting your computer's DNS to point directly to our DNS server at 216.235.80.35 as a temporary work-around.

Windows users:

Go to Control Panel>Network Connections and select your local network.
Click Properties, and then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Click Properties.
Click ‘Advanced’ and select the ‘DNS’ Window.
Click ‘Add’ to add our DNS 216.235.80.35
Select our DNS address from the list and click on the ‘up’ arrow to the right and move our DNS to the top of your DNS list.
Click ‘OK’ and restart your computer.

Mac users:
Open your Mac Hard Drive
Click ‘Applications’
Open ‘System Preferences’
Under ‘Internet&Network’, Select ‘Network’
Click ‘Configure’
Select the ‘TCP/IP’ tab
Add our DNS server address 216.235.80.35
Click "Apply Now" and restart your computer.

Unfortunately, depending on 3rd party service provider’s domain settings, some networks may take longer to update than others to pick up the DNS changes throughout the entire Internet. The estimated time for the DNS updates to be completed by 6pm tonight.

There may be a few ISPs that are not able to access Live365 at this time. We will set up a forum for this.

If you continue to have problems please let me know by e-mail or in the comments.
